GSPB Pisum sativum, Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi Solanum tuberosum, Ralstonia solanacearum Gossypium hirsutum , Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. malvacearum The Göttingen Collection of Phytopathogenic Bacteria (GSPB)  was built up at the University of Göttingen over a period of more  than 45 years. The GSPB deals with the acquisition,  characterization, identification, storage and the sale of  phytopathogenic bacteria. The collection consists, with the  exception of a few saprophytic strains, exclusively of  phytopathogenic bacteria containing, at present, more than 3000 strains. The strains belong to 166 different species, subspecies  or pathovars of all presently known phytopathogenic bacterial  genera from many continents. It is intended to link the GSPB  with the German collection of microorganisms and cell cultures  (DMSZ) at Brunswick.
